YanYan is a great team player. She has worked closely with developers, project managers, marketing and sales team. She can also takes projects from zero to the development - from concept, prototype to the visual elements - no matter it's a mobile application, a desktop software, or a website. She has a Master of Fine Art degree from the University of Texas at Austin, and Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design.
As her design philosophy, she says "I believe the design process must balance between functionality and aesthetics."
User experience is essential to a product. Therefore before starting a new project, I always ask who are the end users and what do they need. I then get to know my audience by analyzing the persona, scenarios and business cases. How can we solve their problems?
Wireframe & Prototype
I believe wireframes create bridges between information architecture and visual design. It gives stakeholders a grasp of the product’s functionality, shows navigation between pages and ensures the requirements are met. I create low-fidelity or high-fidelity prototypes depending on the different phases of the project.
With strategically implementing images, colors, typography, shapes and texture, I make sure the design elements enhance the user experience for a product. It gives users a clear visual path and direct the eyes flow through the page.
Other Digital Art
I also have had fun with other digital and published materials, which includes magazines, newspapers, books, advertisements, posters, billboards, catalog, flyers and signs.
